Activities - Walking

Moulin is the starting point for a number of routed walks and gentle climbs. You can climb to the summit of Ben-y-Vrackie (2,757 ft), reach the view indicator on Craigower Hill, gently amble to the Blackspout waterfall, or start a circuit of Pitlochry. A little further afield, the likes of Schiehallion (3,554 ft), Ben Lawyers (3,984 ft) and Beinn Dearg (3,307 ft) offer challenges for the more serious hill-walker.

Local Walks
The Moulin Hotel makes an ideal base for a walking holiday. Highland Perthshire offers walking for all ranges of experience from challenging Munros to gentle woodland strolls.

Some of the best local walks start right outside the door of the Moulin Hotel. You can access a detailed route description by clicking on the title of each walk.

Ben-y-Vrackie
A typical Scottish moorland walk, finishing with a short climb to the summit of Ben-y-Vrackie (2,757 ft).

Craigower Hill
A three mile round trip through a Forestry Commission plantation to a noted local viewpoint overlooking the Rivers Garry and Tummel.

The Pass of Killiecrankie
This circular route from the Moulin Hotel combines high moorland with the return leg though the Pass of Killiecrankie to Pitlochry.
