Touring
- 7 Day Tour
Here is a little 7 day mixed touring and activity holiday
we have put together for you to demonstrate just how much
you can see and do, and why your time with us will,be too
short!!
Day 1
Arrive at the hotel, chill out, unwind, relax over a leisurely
dinner and a few malts or local Moulin ales. Get a good nights
sleep ready for the next day.
Day 2
Get into the ‘spirit’ of the area with a ‘Whisky
and Castles’ tour. Start at nearby Blair Castle, then
north via Killiecrankie to Dalwhinnie Distillery. Then take
the superb hill road over to Trinafour and on to Aberfeldy
to visit Menzies Castle and Dewars World of Whisky. Then onwards
to Pitlochry and Edradour, before stopping at McPherson’s
superb whisky shop in Pitlochry on the way back.
Day 3
A day ‘on foot’. Perhaps a round of Golf in the
morning at Pitlochry (or a ‘warm up 9 holes at Blair
Atholl morning followed by 18 at Pitlochry in the afternoon).
Alternatively help us choose a sensational ‘Pitlochry
Walk’ for you. For the more adventurous – climb
famous Schiehallion.
Day 4
A leisurely day tour will take you to Cairngorm National Park
and Aviemore, followed by Inverness and Loch Ness, then south
to Fort William, then across the Laggan and Monarch of the
Glen Country road back to the hotel.
Day 5
Country sports for the men, shopping for the ladies. Ladies
visit the House of Bruar. In the morning, followed by lunch
in the superb food hall there, then an afternoon trip to the
lovely highland shops fo Pitlochry. Gentlemen – a day’s
river fishing or shooting we’ll organise.
Day 6
We recommend two great car tours – either north via
Braemar to Ballater, Royal Deeside and of course Royal Lochnagar
Distillery (you can come back via Tomintoul, Grantown and
Aviemore) – or a day in Crieff and Strathearn via Loch
Tummel and Rannoch, Aberfeldy and the Sma Glen. Visit the
famous Grouse Experience and return via Lochearnhead, Killin
and Loch Tay.
Day 7
On your last day its your choice. Another round of golf perhaps,
this time at Glorious Taymouth castle. Adventure at Highland
Adventure Safaris. Something form the above you didn’t
do? Or the sensational Folk Museum at Kingussie, taking in
also the Waltzing Waters at Newtonmore and The Highland Wildlife
Museum? Then a compllmentary local dram of Edradour, before
a taste of Scotland farewell dinner.
Day 8
A hearty Scottish breakfast and a fond farewell. Haste ye
back!
